Nelson Street, Jericho
This lovely, open plan Victorian terraced cottage was converted for my
family's own use but as they have grown up, it is now available for the discerning Oxford visitor.
It has 2 double bedrooms and a
single room with a very comfortable Habitat sofabed in the living room for occasional guests.
There is an en suite shower room to the master bedroom and a stylish
shower/bath with glass screen in the family bathroom for the occupants of the single and the top floor bedroom.
The kitchen is well fitted with
an induction and normal electric hob (2 of each type), a crazy cylindrical ATAG refridgerator, dishwasher, freezer and corian
worktops. There is a seating area with a glass table (see pics) and access to the garden which faces south, and backs
onto Worcester College grounds, so although you can't really see in, as the trees are quite high, the birdsong is GREAT.
The neighbours are lovely, and as a neighbourhood, Jericho can't be beaten. We have a great primary school in St Barnabas,
well supported parish church with v cool vicar (motorbike and side-car), great shops on Walton Street with the Phoenix Picturehouse
and a selection of funky shops and restaurants too. It is central yet quiet; my kids play football in the street, and
we WILL have a party for the Jubilee in June 2012.
The house is wifi (virginmedia) has a stereo system (bring cd's and dvd's)
and when I get around to replanting it, it has a lovely windowbox too.
I have had several families here on Sabbatical at the University who
have loved it. There are lots of schools nearby other than the Primary school, for example Leckford Place, the famous Oxford
High School, Cherwell school, Magdalen College School, the Dragon in its various guises plus you can get to the bus to Abingdon
school...oh and Wychwood and Headington are accessible..
