Jericho Property, open plan ground floor living area

Introduction

These 3 Victorian properties are available for short lets, from 1 or 2 nights, up to a Sabbatical let (8-10 weeks),but possibly for longer.

They are rented directly from the owner, so no middle-man charges, though obviously the shorter the rental, the higher the nightly charge. They are all very conveniently located for all the attractions of the city centre, being within walking distance of the bus and train station, all the colleges and departments of the University and other historical buildings and amenities.

Upper Fisher Row is a cul-de-sac, overlooking the Oxford Canal and the Jericho property is backing onto Worcester College gardens, about 150 yards from Upper Fisher Row as the crow flies!  The Coach house is also in Jericho, sleeps 4, shares the owner's garden and is equally convenient.

Things to do in and around Oxford

There is easy access to London via train, and cars can be hired in the city centre for access to the Cotswolds and Stratford.  Oxford has excellent theatre and occasional festivals from the Art Weeks in May to the Literary Festival in the Spring.  There are Alumni events at various times, and classical concerts to be enjoyed in the Sheldonian theatre, Jacqueline du Pre room or the  Holywell Music rooms.

Tours can be taken of Oxford on a cycle rickshaw, or pedicab with the company Oxon Carts with whom you will visit the back streets of Oxford that so many visitors can easily miss. (see Links on property pages)

Eating out in Oxford

Oxford has restaurants of all types and to suit all budgets ranging from gastro pubs, to Raymond Blanc's brasserie.  All cuisines are available and Jamie Oliver has an Italian bistro within 200 yards of Upper Fisher Row.  The Oxford Retreat is an excellent local restaurant at the end of Upper Fisher Row, with an outside terrace and The Anchor Inn on Hayfield road is a personal favourite for its brilliant chef and seasonal menu more convenient to Jericho but a lovely stroll up the Canal from Upper Fisher Row.  The Rickety Press in Jericho is vibrant, excellent food, slightly tucked away, so do seek it out.  Sojo is an excellent Chinese round the corner on Hythe Bridge Street.
